The purpose:
The World Robot Olympiad (WRO) is a global robotics competition; moreover, it is an indicative international educational activity. Each year, the WRO involves approximately 100,000 young people, who are from 6 to 25 years old and from more than 60 countries around the world. The WRO includes comprehensive scientific and technological capabilities, such as electronic technology, automation technology, artificial intelligence technology and pattern recognition technology.
In Macau, more than 30 primary and secondary schools are implementing STEM education with joining WRO. It aims to enable young people who love robotics to learn through this interesting and cooperative competition, and learn more about robotics history. WRO includes football, regular (primary, junior and senior), WEDO and open category.
Macau Science and Technology Innovation Education Association (MSTIEA) will host the “2018 WRO World Olympic Robot Competition and Macau International Invitational Tournament” on October 14th, 2018, for primary and secondary students.
We hope to build a learning platform for improving their skills and problem solving ability; enhance teamwork spirit and exchange experience with other regions’ students.

Age: Born from January 1st, 2003 to December 31st, 2005
2.3 Senior:
Age: Born from January 1st, 1999 to December 31st, 2002
3. Open category
3.1 Elementary:
Age: Born on or after January 1st, 2006
3.2 Junior:
Age: Born from January 1st, 1999 to December 31st, 2005
4. WeDo
4.1 Regular:
Age: Born on or after January 1st, 2008
4.2 Open category:
Age: Born on or after January 1st, 2008

VII. Rules for games:
All competitions use the rules of the WRO 2018 World Tournament. In case of any dispute, MSTIEA has sole and final discretion of interpretation of the rules and Conditions.

Registration deadline: September 15th, 2018.
Due to the size of the competition venue, the number of enrolled team for each school may have an upper limit due to the registration status.
IX. Remarks
1. The games rules can be downloaded from the WRO website or MSTIEA website. The websites are as follows:

2. The 2018 WRO World Olympic Robot Competition and the Macau International Invitational Tournament must use LEGO Education products.

4. In the competition, the judge(s) decision(s) are considered as final judgment(s) during game plays. The judge (or head judge(s)) will not review any video of this competition. Any questions about the competition must be submitted to the judge immediately by a student representative at the competition site. Any complaints after the competition will not be accepted.
5. Any and all problems, issues or circumstances not clearly regulated by this document will be decided by Head Judge(s) or MSTIEA.
6. MSTIEA has reserved the final discretion of interpretation of this document.
